ok so ive been self mutilating since i was 12. its pretty bad. im 16 now and have attempted suicide twice and have frequent urges and thoughts of it. my self harm includes cutting, burning, bruising, and on occation not eating. ( no eating disorder though). anyways i just told my mom that im ready to get help so im seeing a counsler tomorrow but im really interested in having some short term inpatient treatment i guess almost like rehad at a treatment center. do places that help people with drug addictions also treat those with self harm addictions? so if you have any names of facilities with a program like this that could help me itd be greatly appreciated. i live in illinois btw so the closer the better. thank you so much!

I’m really interested in the assignment and I figured that it will be better if I conduct interviews to make my paper really authentic. I’m planning to interview people who are currently receiving treatment because I want to know the reasons why they decided to get some help. Some say you can not get addicted, some say you can, others say it depends on the person. what could a person do If they are addicted to marijuana and want to clean up since Marijuana is becoming more accepted and is treated like its no problem at all. Im not saying anything bad about Marijuana, Just asking what a person could do If they had the desire to quit, yet they at the same time also feel that they cant stop by themselves, or don’t even want to stop because the cravings are unbearable.
