Police Raid And Drug Bust In Modesto, California – Modesto News – May 20, 2011 Yesterday afternoon a Modesto Police Department narcotics team raided a marijuana grow operation in Modesto, California on Carver Rd. just south of Standiford Ave. Modesto News .org was the only news agency on the scene and the only news agency to cover the bust. A team of undercover and uniformed officers raided the house late yesterday afternoon after a lengthy investigation and surveillance operation. During the raid one officer was force to use non-lethal force against a vicious dog. The dog attempted to attack officers as they were making entrance into the residence. An officer shot the dog with a bean bag round fired from a shot gun. No one was injured in the raid and one man was taken into custody. The local electric company, MID was called to the house after the raid when police discovered that the grow operator had performed extensive illegal modifications to the electrical wiring of the house. The Modesto Police Department is remaining tight lipped at this point about many of the specifics in the case.
