Im a recovering cocaine addict I have been 2 months. My current girlfriend knows about my addiction and has been totally understanding of my recovery. The cravings are still there so how can i get rid of them?

I am starting to put two and two together. My boyfriend and I have been together for 2 years. He has used cocaine recreationally for several years before we met but it was only once every three or four months. We moved a year ago and about 6 months ago he was able to get cocaine much easier and has now started using it every weekend. Ever since that time his attitude has changed and his anger has gotten out of hand as you can probably tell by my previous posts. The therapist has told me that she believes that he has Intermittent Explosive Disorder, after reading more about this disorder it has mentioned that cocaine can cause these angry outbursts. I moved out of our house a week ago and have been staying with my sister since due to his anger. I love him and don’t want to give up on him if he has a problem and I know I can’t help him but I feel like I should do more to support him, what do I do?

It’s because I want to enter my brother in a rehab center because of his addiction to cocaine. Also, can somebody give me an idea on how long the treatment process would probably take?

Drug rehabilitation is the only way to treat addiction to a particular drug or substance. Cocaine addiction is a serious disease that needs comprehensive treatment process like detoxification, counseling and other addiction recovery program.

I have had problems with addictions my entire life. I have heard you can switch addictions…..has anyone ever done that on purpose? If so, how?

I have ADD and a very addictive personality. In high school I was addicted to cocaine, now in college I’m addicted to cigarettes. I also take Adderall, which is surely addictive, and I think it has helped in some ways to “replace” my cocaine addiction. I’m a drinker and smoke pot too, but these are social activities and I have no problem stopping myself with them if I want to.

So im 17 and about 6 weeks ago a friend of mine came over and gave me a bag of coke. i tried it and ever since then thats the only thing i have able to think about. i sniff it everyday now and ive started bringing it to school doing it in the bathrooms! i cant take this anymore, ive already spent most of my money on it and i really need help on wat to do. i dont want to tell my mom please help!
